SNOWLINE-SKYDALE ANNUAL MEETING

Saturday, May 30, 2026

10:45AM – Gilpin County Library

Officers Present:  Dan Dague, President; Matt Cole, Vice President; Vickie Wheeler, Treasurer; Terri Vernon, Member at Large; Becky Dague, Secretary.

Our morning began with a social time from 10:15 to 10:45am.  A big thank you to Dan & Becky for

bringing quiches, pastries and fruit which all enjoyed.  Dan opened the meeting by thanking the property owners who were present, a quorum was not achieved.    Dan mentioned that it is important that we have each property owner’s mailing address, email address as well as their property address.  He talked about the property usage criteria which can also be found on our website, Snowline-Skydale.org.  He mentioned that we might check out the website www.summitfire.org/wildfire-planning-tips. Dan mentioned that he heard that people have been borrowing each other’s boats and not putting them back and especially not tying them down.  Please use good “boat behavior”.  When someone asks you “where is your pass” please be polite when answering.  Due to the drought the lake is lower the water is below the outlet about a foot.  It was noted that a lazy beaver is back on the lake in the old den.

The meeting minutes from 2025 were not read because they were sent to the members and have been on our website Snowline-Skydale.org for the past year.  There was not a vote to accept because we did not have a quorum.

Vickie W gave her Treasurer’s Report  – She mentioned that there are 2 years of stocking fish in the report because Liley Fisheries was ready to stock in April this year.  Our property tax went up by $260.00 and the funds that were spent on sound dampening this past year was a successful endeavor!  The Board has decided to keep the Annual Dues and Fishing passes at the same cost as last year.  Thank you to John F. for providing us the fishing passes each year!

Opening Balance:  May 2026 $22,948.51

2025 Income $10,200.38

Total Expenses $17,428.76

Total Balance $15,720.13

FISH REPORT:  Approximately 450 lbs. 12-16” Rainbow Trout –

80lbs. of 3-lb Rainbow Trout

Total:  $4732.50

2026-2027 Fishing Season Pass and Member Lake Pass (non-fishing) is good through May 31, 2027.  A pass must always be worn at the lake when you are fishing or just hanging out.

**Members can pay your dues of $165; fishing passes are $85 for a total of $250.00.  If you have a boat stored by the lake it will need to be “stickered” with a sticker you can purchase from our Treasurer Vickie.  It is $3.00 each year and each year there will be a new sticker.  This year if by June 20 a boat is not stickered it will be removed from the lake.  After a number of days the boats will be disposed of.  Many members have left boats after moving away and we need those spots for active members.  Vickie, our Treasurer would prefer you call her and make arrangements to get your passes, her phone is 720-690-2826.  Please make check out to Snowline-Skydale POA.

AERATORS – Matt C spoke about the condition of the aeration system at the lake.  He said the Zombie Box has been working great to dampen the sound of the compressors.  There is a broken hose currently so one of the aerators is not working.  He and Dan will be working on that in the next few weeks.  This summer he has put in timers so the aerators will be working from 11pm to 8am each day.  They will run 24/7 all winter.  Matt will now plan to rebuild the compressors every two years.

LAKE CLEAN UP DAY  –  Saturday, June 20 – 10-Noon :  Projects to be addressed are staking down the tree wraps, wrap and rewrap any vulnerable trees, general trash pickup, disposal of grate and other scrap materials near compressor.  Some of the benches and chairs need looked at, cut off remaining tree stumps, boat tiedown, and boat removal.  Reinforce trench from road to lake to prevent the boat area from flooding.  The Camp’s usually arrange for any thistle spraying.

ANNUAL POTLUCK PICNIC –  Saturday, July 25 from 11am – 1pm.  The barbecue will be at noon.  The Board will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, lemonade, and chips.  Members can bring their favorite side dishes.  The Board will allow $300 for the picnic supplies.    Becky will send out an email in June-July as a reminder.  Vickie has a sign she can post by the bus stop.

BOAT STICKER – once again we will be issuing a $3.00 per year sticker for boats that are being stored at the lake.  The sticker should be placed on the right side of the boat above the water line.  (the right side when you are sitting in the watercraft).

OPEN FORUM:

We had a few new residents attend the meeting, welcome to them – thank you for interest in joining our lake membership.

It was mentioned that some members are removing the gate at the lake from the hinges to get around it.  We try to limit traffic especially cars in that area so the grass and wildflowers will grow and not be disturbed.  It is not a boat launch.  If it just becomes dirt and mud it will erode into the lake.  If you have a gathering and need to be in that area to drop a person off that may not be able to walk down to the lake, please call an officer and ask for the code.  The removable hinges will be repaired.

We all discussed that we are in a new era with power outages happening.  We encourage getting to know your neighbors and who might be vulnerable during a long outage.  It was mentioned that you can park in front of the fire station and make phone calls from there.  Some residents are installing generators or have a portable one on hand to get by with a few items plugged in.

We adjourned the meeting at noon.    Meeting minutes and other pertinent information can be found on our website Snowline-Skydale.org

REMEMBER: We are requiring ALL MEMBERS to wear their pass when they are on lake property, either fishing or walking or just spending some time enjoying themselves.  It is a MEMBERS ONLY lake and that will help identify each of us when we are using the lake and property.

Respectfully submitted,
